Porcelain Veneers

A Veneer is a thin layer of porcelain used to cover the front of a tooth. Veneers are recommended to patients who may have worn, chipped or discoloured teeth. Dental Veneers are extremely thin but once bonded to the tooth they are implausibly strong. They are able to block out undesirable colours, such as from a very dark underlying tooth and allow the beauty of the veneers to shine through. In our practice, we frequently use dental veneers to create a smile that is natural and beautiful. A precise shade of porcelain can be chosen to give the right colour to improve a single discoloured or stained tooth or to lighten front teeth generally. Veneers can also be used to close small gaps when orthodontics are not suitable. If one tooth is slightly out of position, a veneer can sometimes be fitted to bring it into line with the others.
